After sealing the test series in the second test, New Zealand is set to host the Bangladesh tigers for the third and final test at Hagley Oval, Christchurch. The Blackcaps have been a superior force so far in this tour, while the visitors are still struggling to find their feet in New Zealand. In spite of a dead rubber game, both the teams will treat this contest as a preparation drill ahead of ICC World Cup.
New Zealand has clinched this test series riding on some back-to-back clinical performances. Ross Taylor followed Kane Williamson’s footsteps and scored a sensational double century at Wellington to take his side to another victory. Neil Wagner and Trent Boult ripped apart the Bangladesh batting lineup as the duo picked 16 wickets between them in the previous game. With the test series in their kitty, New Zealand would be eyeing for a series whitewash heading into the final match.
On the contrary, Bangladesh is having a terrible time so far as they still searching for their first victory in this tour. Having been hammered in the ODI series by 3-0, the visitors were expected to fight back in the test series. However, that was not the case, and Bangladesh also lost the test series in the first two games. With the ICC World Cup on sight, the visitors would be hoping to end this horrible tour on a winning note to gain some momentum. A consolation win against a quality opponent can do the sub-continent side a lot of good.
