Kings XI Punjab is set to host the Rajasthan Royals in Mohali for another enthralling contest in IPL 2019. The hosts will be desperate to get back to winning ways having lost two games on the trot while the Royals will be confident after thrashing Mumbai Indians in their backyard. Both the teams will square off for the second time in this IPL, and Kings XI emerged victorious by 14 runs in that previous encounter.
Kings XI Punjab started their campaign in flying fashion in this IPL, but they seem to lose their way in the middle of the tournament. With four wins and as many defeats in their eight IPL matches, the hosts are lying at the fifth spot in the IPL 2019 points table. KL Rahul and Chris Gayle have been in great form in this IPL for the home side as the ace duo has provided their teams with flying start more often than not. However, their bowling unit has been under the scanner post their disappointing performance in the last couple of IPL fixtures. Apart from Ashwin and Sam Curran, there is no genuine wicket-taker in their bowling lineup.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals are looking to bring their campaign back on track after a flurry of slump performances in this IPL. Jos Butler, Steve Smith, and Ben Stokes have been scoring runs consistently for the Royals in the IPL 2019 while Jofra Archer and Shreyas Gopal have led the bowling attack. The visitors would be eyeing to breach the Punjab fortress in the upcoming match at Mohali. Currently, they are languishing at the second last spot in the IPL 2019 points table with a couple of victories in their seven league fixtures. Rahane will have to take up the responsibility and lead his side from the front in the remaining of the matches to reach the IPL 2019 playoffs.
