FC Goa will be aiming to snap their three-game unbeaten streak when they host high-flying NorthEast United in an Indian Super League match at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (Fatorda Stadium), in Margao, Goa, on Friday evening (IST).
FC Goa will host NorthEast United in an intriguing contest where both the teams will compete for a place in the semi-final of the Hero ISL. For the majority of the season, FC Goa were at the top of the table. They were scoring goals for fun and even now they are the top scorers of the league with 22 goals. Of the 22 goals they have scored in this season, 21 have come before the last international break. Since then in over 270 minutes of football, they have only scored once – which too was a contentious one with Jackichand Singh being in an offside position.
FC Goa were the leaders of the Indian Super League for the majority of the season. In the last five games, they have lost twice which has caused them to fall down some placed in the league table. They still are a potent threat to the title, as the style of football they have adopted can cause problems to anyone they go up against. The only thing the team needs is a bit of composure in the dying embers of the game.
Meanwhile, NorthEast United have drawn the last three games. They still only have one loss on the record but have to find the goal-scoring touch which has gone missing. Regardless, it is expected that this club will be able to find the solution to these problems and once again continue on with the progress they have made since the last season where they finish in the bottom of the table.

Players to watch out for-
The NorthEast United FC forward is having a sensational season this year. He has been involved in 9 goals this season and still has a lot more to offer.
The Spanish forward is the leading goal0scorer for the team this season and also has five assists to prove how important he is to the way FC Goa play.
FC Goa are at home and we know how formidable they can be in front of their own fans. At the present scenario, there is very little to differentiate both the teams. With a win for either team going to making notable changes in the points table, anything can be expected from the managers – surprising lineups to all-out-attack tactics. Hence, a prediction would be difficult to make, but NorthEast United does enjoy a minute upper hand for the winner’s seat.
