The stage is set for a fierce battle when two biggest rivals in the English football will collide with each other at the Theater of Dreams. Manchester United is set to host Liverpool at the Old Trafford in another epic encounter in the Premier League. This game will serve for than a bragging right for both the sides as we are heading into the business end of the tournament. This will be the second instance when these two teams will lock horns in the league. Liverpool emerged victorious in their last meeting by 3-1 at the Anfield.
Manchester United have been in scintillating form since the arrival of Ole Solskjaer as their caretaker manager. He brought back the free-flowing beautiful attacking football back to the Old Trafford, something that was missing under Jose Mourinho. Ironically Jose’s last match was against Liverpool before he was sacked by the Manchester United board. They haven’t lost any game in the league since appointing Ole as their caretaker manager for the rest of the season. The Red Devils started to look threatening again with their blistering pace and accurate passes to torment the backline of any defense. However, the hosts would be eyeing to avenge their previous defeat in Anfield.
Liverpool, on the contrary, is having the best time in the league for a while. Liverpool is currently sitting comfortably in the second position with 65 league points to their name. They are trailing to the defending champions, Manchester City in goal difference, however, they have one game in hand. Under Klopp, the table toppers have been in exceptional form in this campaign so far. The Reds would be hoping to win this crunch match as they can’t afford any slip-ups in their road to the title victory.
This time there is more at stake than just the bragging rights as we are heading into the business end of the tournament. It will be a treat for the fans to watch both the teams playing breathtaking attacking football. A premier league classic!
