The Proteas are set to host Pakistan for the second T20I at Johannesburg for another epic encounter. South Africa defeated the visitors in the opening T20I by 6 runs in a close contest. The hosts would be hoping to replicate such performance in the upcoming T20I to seal the series. Pakistan needs to bounce back in this crucial game to stay alive in the series.

Pakistan were on an 11 match winning streak in T20Is before going down to the hosts at Cape Town. Faf du Plessis (78) and Reeza Hendricks (74) played exceptional innings to take their team to a competitive total of 192-6. Usman Shinwari bowled an excellent spell and took three wickets in the innings. Most of the Pakistani bowlers were taken to cleaners by the South African batsmen.

The visitors started the chase on a disappointing note and lost Fakhar Zaman in the first over of the innings. Husain Talat and Babar Azam stitched a useful partnership to bring their side back into the game. David Miller starred while fielding, bagging 2 crucial run outs and 4 catches to take the game away from Pakistan. B Hendricks, Chris Morris and Tabraiz Shamsi took two wickets each to restrict the visitors to 186-9.

Pakistan must be willing to put their best step forward in the upcoming match to level the series by 1-1. After losing both the Test and ODI series, the visitors need to win this series to take some positives away from this tour. The hosts must be eyeing to clinch the T20I series in the second game itself and continue their winning form.
