New Zealand are ready to host Sri Lanka for the only T20 International at Eden Park, Auckland on Friday. The host would be aiming to defeat Sri Lanka in this contest and complete a tour whitewash. Sri Lanka will play for their pride in this game and would be hoping to end this tour on a winning note.

The Lankan Lions have been winless in this entire tour of New Zealand, having lost both the test series (1-0) and ODI series (3-0). The Kiwis thrashed them in the final ODI by 115 runs to clean sweep the ODI series by 3-0, riding back on the centuries of Ross Taylor and Henry Nicholls.

Kane Williamson has been rested for the sole T20I match and Tim Southee will be seen leading the black caps in the absence of their regular skipper. Jimmy Neesham is also expected to miss out this competition against Sri Lanka. Kiwis will still have much firepower with players like Guptill, Munro, Ross Taylor, Southee, Santner and Ish Sodhi still in their ranks.

Lasith Malinga will lead the down and dusted Lankan side in the only T20 match and he will have to boost the morale of his team. They would be hoping for the change in fortunes under the experienced captain. Sri Lankan batting lineup has been under heavy fire recently and certain players were criticized for their casual approach and poor shot selections. They have a fair opportunity to end the tour on a high and players like Kushal Perera, Dickwella, Thisara Perera, Nuwam Pradeep, Chameera needs to step up and perform for their country.
